PILOT ROCK, Ore. - The Weston-McEwen TigerScots girls basketball team fell to Pilot Rock 55-31 in Blue Mountain Conference action here Friday night.

Trailing 9-4 after one quarter, the wheels came off the track for the TigerScots in the second period as they fell behind 29-11 at halftime.

"That second quarter we had some unforced errors," W-M coach Amber Doremus said, "and some defensive lapses. I would say that about 10n of those 20 points came from us not communicating on defense and not playing like we are supposed to."

Ashley Gambill led a balanced Rocket scoring attack with 10 points. Tiffany Cain and Shaelin Youncs totaled five points each for W-M and Morgan Entze and Taryn Coffman added four points apiece.

Pilot Rock, which is rated No. 4 in the OSAA's Class 2A state rankings, improved to 15-2 overall and is 8-0 in the BMC going into next Friday's home game against Heppner.

The TigerScots fell to 4-3 in league play and 6-10 overall. Weston-McEwen entertained Union Saturday night.
