$n$ Wa-Hi boys swimmers pick up event victories at Eastmont

EAST WENATCHEE - Wa-Hi's Austin Garrett picked up victories in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and Max Troing won the 100 backstroke the Jonathon Klem the 100 breaststroke, at a boys Big Nine swim dual meet here Saturday.

Garrett's 24-second finish in the 50 free was a full second faster than Eastmont's Braiden Bellanger, and he cruised to a 12-second win over Nicholas Jacobus in the 100 free.

Troin's 1:08 defeated Derek Hartman by a second in the 100 back, and Klem's 1:06 in the 100 breast was followed by Eastmont's Derek Hartman.

Josh Bumgarner was second in the 200 free in 2:10 as well as the 500 free in 5:51, Patrick Giedeman took second in the individual medley in 2:16, Klem pulled in a second in the fly in 59 seconds, and Zach Staudenmaier was runner up in the 100 free with a minute-flat.

Wa-Hi's 200 medley relay was edged by Eastmont's A team with a time of 1:52, the 200 relay was second in 1:54, and the Blue Devil A relay team was second in the 400 in 3:42.

Wa-Hi hosts Wenatchee at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitman College's Harvey Pool.
