Thefts, Burglaries

WW Police

500 block East Cherry Street. Vehicle window broken, stereo stolen.

400 block Bridge Street. Thursday. Bicycle stolen.

500 block South Second Avenue. Burglary interrupted by resident, who was assaulted but not injured.

CP Police

Walmart, 1700 S.E. Meadowbrook Boulevard, 6 p.m. Monday. One person was cited for third-degree theft, obstructing and giving a false statement. Another person was cited for obstructing and giving a false statement.


WW Police

La Quinta Hotel, 520 N. Second Avenue. An employee was assaulted by a man at the hotel some time after midnight today.


WW Police

Poplar Street and Fourth Avenue, 1:17 p.m. Sunday. Driver failed to stop at red light and stuck another vehicle. Driver of second car received arm abrasions.

West Poplar Street and Wainwright Drive, 5:11 p.m. Friday. Driver failed to yield and struck a vehicle in cross traffic. No injuries reported.

South First Avenue and East Birch Street, 2:41 p.m. Monday. Two-vehicle collision.


WW Police

John Timothy Schaeffer III, 36, 205 Bush St. Monday. Charge: investigation of third-degree malicious mischief.

WW County Sheriff

Pamela Jean Hermanns, 52, 606 W. Second St., Waitsburg. Monday. Charge: investigation of second-degree stolen property and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Fire, Ambulance runs

WW Fire Dept.

West Sumach Street and Fifth 5th Avenue, 4:57 p.m. Monday. Burning debris investigated, nothing illegal found.

800 block Airport Way. 9:33 p.m. Monday. Vehicle fire.


WW Police

600 block Catherine Street. Friday. Vehicle door handle kicked and damaged.

300 block Whitman Street. Sunday. Graffiti on fence and shed. More graffiti found between South Park and South Palouse streets and in the alley between Craig and Whitman streets.

500 block South Third Avenue. Jan. 14. Two vehicles vandalized.

500 block Locust Street. Monday. Brick thrown through rear window of pickup truck.

MF Police

Odd Fellows Hall, 209 N. Main St. Graffiti on side of building.
