Christopher William Tolley, 41, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011.
Chris was born on Aug. 16, 1969, in Staten Island. N.Y. He moved with his family to Walla Walla at an early age, attended school here and was part of the class of 1988.
Chris worked his whole life in the restaurant industry and was a chef at many notable places throughout the Northwest. Most recent he was the dietary chef for Walla Walla General Hospital. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his free time riding motorcycles and 4-wheeling with friends and family in the mountains. Chris loved music and was an avid collector. He also loved his dogs, Chainsaw and Sparky.
Chris is survived by his partner of 17 years, Sue Orem of College Place; daughter, Miranda Tolley of Walla Walla; sons of Sue Orem, Josh Coxen of College Place, Matt Orem of Portland; mother, Anne Tolley of
Walla Walla; father, Rick Tolley of Milton-Freewater; siblings, Richard Tolley of Walla Walla; sister, Jenny Vaughn and partner Tommy Steggell of Rockaway Beach; sister, Cathy Hunter and husband Jeff of Walla Walla; three nephews, Jeffrey and Tyler Vaughn of Milton-Freewater and Cole Rand of Walla Walla; three nieces, Hailey Tolley of Seattle, Natasha and Deva Hunter of Billings, Mont.; and numerous aunts , uncles and cousins. He is also survived by best friends Jeremy Ruchert and Topher Murphy.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Wilma Tolley and John and Mary Redunski; uncles, James Redunski, F.M.S, John Redunski and Michael Tolley.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donation be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society through the Herring Funeral Home.
Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at Herring Funeral Home in Walla Walla and will conclude at the Dayton City Cemetery.
