Helix girls fall to Dufur, 52-27, on Friday

DUFUR - Janelle Keeves scored 20 points to lead Big Sky West Division-leading Dufur to a 52-27 victory over Helix in girls basketball action here Friday night.

The Grizzlies took a 1-6 league record and 5-12 overall mark into a Saturday home contest with Horizon Christian.

Helix trailed just 20-19 at halftime.

Chyanne Hack and Claire Ely led the Grizzlies with 11 points apiece.

"They came out and pressed us the whole game," Helix coach Dean Fouquette said. "They wore us down.

"We had a good first half," he said. "We shot the ball well, defended well and broke their press. We need to sustain it for a game.

"In the second half, we came out flat," Fouquette said. "They played well. They're pretty good."
