HEPPNER - Weston-McEwen left too much on the floor in a Friday win over Enterprise, and Heppner took advantage Saturday in girls Blue Mountain Conference basketball action.

The Mustangs jumped to a 12-6 lead after one and gradually pulled away for a 46-31 win.

"We used a lot of energy against Enterprise Friday," W-M coach Amber Doremus said. "We came out flat. They shot well, and when we made mistakes, they found a way to put it in the basket."

Bailey Bennett and Taighler Dougherty led the Mustangs with 12 points each as Heppner improved to 5-5 in league.

Tiffany Cain led the TigerScots with a double-double. Cain scored 12 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Morgan Entze hit for eight points and grabbed 11 boards. WM falls to 6-4 in league and will host Pilot Rock Friday.

"Pilot Rock is first in our district and that will be a tough matchup," Doremus said. "Our goal is to finish in third place and get a state game. We need to win three of our last four to reach our goal."
