MILTON-FREEWATER - Ontario's hot shooting and balanced attack was the difference here Saturday in Greater Oregon League girls basketball action.

The Tigers had four in double digits as Ontario posted a 71-17 win over Mac-Hi.

"Their seniors got pretty hot," Pioneers coach Casey Richards said. "Their size and quickness made it tough for us to compete."

Ontario was led by 15 points from Jessica Lang. Jenny Yano and Emily Brockett each chipped in 13 and Katie Hendon added 12.

Freshman Makia Carlson led the Pioneers with nine points and six rebounds.

"Makia was a leader today," Richards said. "We got good passes (down low) to her. She had to work hard but she's getting better. We've worked hard to get her more aggressive underneath, and she had a really good game."

Eloiza Meza chipped in seven points for the Pioneers and dished out three assists.

Mac-Hi travels to Baker Friday.
