Ian Withers was born on April 14, 1952, to Harry and Nyria Ellis Withers in Eugene, Ore. Ian grew up on a cattle ranch in Burns, Ore. He graduated from Burns Union High School in 1970. He then attended
Oregon State University graduating with a BA in business marketing and a minor in poultry science.

On March 30, 1985, Ian married Laurie McCaw of Waitsburg. They had two children, Wyatt and Megan, and he was their biggest supporter in everything they did. He loved watching them compete in sports and
attended all of their events. You could always hear Ian cheering them on!

He was co-owner of Blue Mountain Environmental where he was an environmental consultant. Ian loved his job and especially his clients. He was an amazing salesman and had extraordinary people skills. Ian also loved the country life, especially his chickens. He
would occasionally joke, "Why did God give me such a passion for chickens?" It was true, however, and anyone who knew him would say there were few things he enjoyed more than being out in the pasture with all of his birds.

In addition, Ian spent time every day reading and studying the Bible. His faith in God became the foundation of his life, and he spread the gospel to all of those he knew. His faith now lives on through those he influenced throughout his life.

Ian loved hanging with his kids, hunting, any kind of competition, and growing in the Lord. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, BOMA, and was president of the local pool league. There never was and never will be another person like Ian Withers. His personality and love for the important things in life were unique. Truly one of a kind, his spirit will be missed by all.

Ian is survived by Laurie; his son, Wyatt, who is in the Navy and is stationed at Charleston, SC; his daughter, Megan, who is a senior at Waitsburg High School; his mother, Nyria Withers of Aumsville,
Ore.; sisters, Dawn Frank (Dennis) of Aumsville, Ore., Gail Schneider (Bill) of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Jennifer Cromwell (Rick) of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; nephew, Todd Hawkins (Nicole) of Lake Oswego,
Ore.; niece, Emily Day of Los Alamos, N.M.; nephew, Matt Schneider of Medford, Ore.; niece, Amanda Snyder and nephew, Andrew Snyder, both of Thousand Oaks, Calif. His father, Harry, preceded him in death.
