Walla Walla man arrested in drug raid

WALLA WALLA -- A local man was arrested today during an early morning drug raid at his apartment.

Timothy N. Hopwood, 48, of 205 Woodland, Apt. 9, was taken into custody on investigation of a variety of charges.

Detectives from the Special Teams Unit, city patrol officers and the Sheriff's Office assisted in serving the search warrant after three controlled purchases of methamphetamine were made from Hopwood during the course of the investigation, according to a Police Department news release.

During the search of Hopwood's apartment, detectives allegedly seized methamphetamine, marijuana, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

Hopwood is being held on suspicion of three felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine, in addition to pending charges of unlawful possession of meth, marijuana, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

Hopwood has previous convictions including manufacturing of methamphetamine, the news release says.
