COLLEGE PLACE -- One of three candidates vying for the same seat on the College Place School Board has withdrawn her candidacy, moving the election out of a primary vote.

Sandra A. Vande Hey withdrew her candidacy for the Position 5 seat on Tuesday, according to the Walla Walla County Auditor's Office. Vande Hey filed for the seat on June 15. The School Board Director 5 position is currently held by Marci Knauft. The seat is being sought by Knauft and Todd Kelly.

Voters will choose between Knauft and Kelly during the regular election on Nov. 8.

The primary, scheduled for Aug. 16, is for positions where three or more candidates are seeking the same seat.

From the primary, the public chooses the top two candidates to move on to the general election.
