WALLA WALLA -- The second annual Palliative Care Forum will be at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center, beginning July 18 with a reception in Bldg. 78, 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.
On July 19, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., in the same location, an all-day forum will be presented. Both events are open to the public.
Featured speaker is Dr. Carol Luhrs, director of the VA's Comprehensive End of Life Care Implementation Center.
The July 19 program will feature presentations by palliative-care professionals and educators, as well as by members of the hospice and palliative care community. Continuing education credits will be offered for nurses and social workers with pre-registration.
There is no charge for the event, but a boxed lunch will be available for $11. Brown bag lunches are also welcome.
