Margaret B. Hall, 96, passed away on July 7, 2011, at Park Manor, in Walla Walla. She was born on Aug. 19, 1914, in Prosser, Wash., and was the second of six children born to Gottlieb F. and Elise B. (Baumann) Fund. Her parents, who grew up in Bern, Switzerland, emigrated to the U.S. and met each other for the first time in Puyallup, Wash. Margaret graduated from Yakima Valley Academy (Granger, Wash.) in 1933. On June 27, 1936, she married Charles R. Hall in Grandview, Wash. Charles passed away on Dec. 29, 2005, at the age of 95. In 1946, they settled in Yakima and lived there for 59 years. Margaret worked for several insurance agencies as a secretary.
She was a longtime member of the Yakima Seventh-day Adventist Church and faithfully served in many capacities. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, gardening and traveling and had a wide circle of friends. In 2006, she moved to Walla Walla to be near her son.
She is survived by her son, James R. (Ruth) Hall of Walla Walla; three grandchildren, Greg (Dominique) Hall of Beveren, Belgium, Mark (Danyelle) Hall of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Julie Hall of College Place; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alexander Hall of
Ridgecrest, Calif.; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John G., Otto F., Paul A. and Arthur W. Fund; and her sister, Ruth L. Van Cleave.
