Brenda Jackson of South Bend, Ind., and Bruce Whitehead of Syracuse, Ind., wed June 18, 2011, at Amazing Grace Church of the Nazarene, Walla Walla. The groom's father, the Rev. Larry Whitehead, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ben and Elaine Jackson of Dixie. She was homeschooled, attended selected classes and participated in sports and band at Walla Walla High School, and graduated in 2004. She graduated in 2008 from Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho, with a degree in psychology and in 2010 with a master's in developmental psychology from University of Notre Dame, South Bend, where she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in developmental psychology.

The groom is the son of Larry Whitehead of Mishawaka, Ind., and Karen Keene of Raleigh, N.C. He graduated in 2003 from Valparaiso (Ind.) High School and in 2007 with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. He is a design engineer for Parker Hannifin Corp., Engineered Seals

Division, Syracuse.

The bride's matron of honor was Lucy Johnson of Walla Walla. Her bridesmaids were Laura Bottomley and Amanda Hinterman of Niles, Mich.; Payton and Ashlyn Twibell of Mishawaka, Ind.; and Breanne Jackson of Walla Walla.

The groom's best men were Mitchell and Andrew Whitehead of Chicago. Groomsmen were Josh Hanson of Richmond, Va.; David Haynes of Marion, Ind.; Terry Trapane of Bloomington, Ill.; and Steve Jackson of Walla Walla.

Micaela Lockart of Walla Walla was flower girl.

The reception followed in the Explorer Ballroom at the Marcus Whitman Hotel. The couple honeymooned at Montego Bay, Jamaica. They live in South Bend.
