Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers
Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A list of center activities, classes and health and welfare programs is in the center's monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it. Spanish is spoken at the Center. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Call Mike Johnson at 527-0771.
Senior Round Table luncheons are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays at The Center. Call 527-3775. Bread and milk are served with meals. A vegetarian option and salad bar are available. The menu this week is:
Monday: Beef burrito, corn, green salad, fruit juice, Spanish rice, pudding.
Tuesday: Baked chicken, potato salad, summer squash medley, fruit juice or salad, roll, fruit cobbler.
Wednesday: Teriyaki meatballs, peas, green salad, rice, apricots.
Thursday: Haystacks, applesauce, corn bread, cantaloupe.
Friday: Baked fish, potatoes, coleslaw, bread, applesauce.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals available. Questions: Call 527-3775
Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches served at noon Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time. A hot lunch is at noon Wednesdays.

Suggested donation is $3.50 a meal ages 60 and older or under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served. Milton-Freewater menu:

Friday: Fish, tarter sauce, baked potato, carrot raisin salad, spinach, cornmeal muffin, pie.
The Weston menu is:
Wednesday: Chicken nuggets, rice pilaf, cottage cheese with fruit, mixed vegetables, onion biscuits, orange cake.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a noon meal Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk served. Suggested donation: $3.50. The menu is:
Thursday: Meat balls, vegetable, carrot and raisin salad, dessert.
Workshop on coping with caregiver stress offered
A free workshop "Coping With Caregiver Stress" will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Walla Walla General Hospital, 1025 South Second Ave. Speaker: Elizabeth Hall, certified volunteer instructor, Alzheimer's Association Inland Northwest Chapter and Guardian Angel Homes.
