Carmen L. Buff of Milton-Freewater, passed away July 11, 2011, at her home at the age of 84 years. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral
Home Chapel, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater. Interment will follow at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Carmen Buff to the Friends of the Library
or the Wesley United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
Carmen L. Buff was born on Oct. 13, 1926, the daughter of Shelley and Lela (Harris) Buff in Walla Walla. Carmen attended area schools and graduated from McLoughlin High School in 1944. After school she worked for the Valley National Bank for 14 years, the Flour Mill in Milton-Freewater and later for Lamb Weston until her retirement. Carmen was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Fort Walla Walla Historical Society, Walla Walla Bowling Association and was a past president of the Genealogical Society of Walla Walla. Carmen enjoyed bowling, traveling and was helpful in starting the genealogy department at the Milton-Freewater
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Myrna Buff of Milton-Freewater; nieces and nephews, Pauly Busby of Bozeman, Mont., and Naomi Abbott of WaKeeney, Kan., Tony Buff of Seeley Swan, Mont., Jesse Buff of Great Falls, Mont., and Joshua Buff of Butte, Mont.; step-nieces, Bunny Kurk of Bozeman, Mont., and Francis Gowers of Casper, Wyo.; step-nephew, Timothy Wyckoff of Deer Lodge, Mont.;
and other relatives and friends. Her parents and two cousins, Arnol Gentry and Erma Davies, preceded her in death.
