June 10, 1926 - July 17, 2011

Ellamae (Lanning) Texley a resident of Aloha, Ore., passed away on July 17, 2011. EllaMae was born June 10, 1926, in Wallowa, Ore., to parents Elmer and Amy Rusaw Lanning. She had two siblings, brother, Leonard and sister, Mary Alice. She was especially fond and close to her Aunt Bea and cousin, Lora Lee.

EllaMae spent her childhood and adolescence in Oregon and Washington specifically, Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater where she participated in the marching band, played music and rode horses for show. She later moved to the Tri-Cities where she raised her five children before relocating to Spokane, with her husband Don. The last two years of her life were spent with her husband and family in Aloha, Ore.

EllaMae was an incredibly kind, generous and patient person who gave to many charitable organizations, some of her favorites were; The American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Hospital for Children and the St. Joseph's Indian School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones, cooking, baking, bird watching, gardening and held a unique and special talent in a variety of arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Donald D. Texley; her four boys, Terry March, Skip March, Harry March, Gary March; her daughter, Cindy Tuininga; her grandchildren, Dean March, Trevor March, Melissa March, Brian March, Shane March, Nick March and AmyMae Brown; her five great-grandchildren; and nephews, Butch and Bobby and niece, Theresa.

Viewing visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Friday, July 22, 2011, at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
