WALLA WALLA - The Walla Walla Griz A American Legion baseball team is hosting Hermiston in the first round of the district tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday at Walla Walla Community College.

The Griz are the No. 2 seed into district, while Hermiston is the No. 3 seed.

The winner of Saturday's game travels to Moses Lake, the No. 1 seed, on Sunday and must win two games that day to advance to the state tournament. Moses Lake needs just one victory Sunday to advance.

"We need three games in a row to go to state," Griz coach Ryan Van Dyke said. "It's tough, but it's doable."

The Griz take a 21-15 record into the district tournament.
