Members of the Walla Walla High School Class of 1961 will have plenty of catching up to do, what with their 50th reunion fast approaching. Classmates will gather for an evening social at the Mill Creek Brew Pub on Sept. 16; a 6 p.m. social hour and 7 p.m. dinner Sept. 17 at the Walla Walla Country Club and a 9-11 a.m. breakfast Sept. 18, also at the Country Club. A dozen of the 460-plus students named to the Eastern Oregon University 2011 spring term dean's list are from this area.

Local students to be recognized for scholarship are: Patricia Baker, Adams; Robert Duke, Laina Fairchild, Kayla Turner, all of Athena; Kasey Cleveland, Milton-Freewater; Chantell Cosner, Amanda Macri, Jennifer Pace, Victoria Thul, all of Weston; Adraine Jacobs, Waitsburg; Jaci Hodnefield, Walla Walla; David Winter, College Place.

To qualify students must achieve and maintain 3.5 or higher GPAs while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the duration of the term.


Joshua David Weaver graduated from Seattle Pacific University. The Touchet resident earned a master's in industrial/organizational psychology.
