Free summer concerts begin in Pioneer Park

The Kirkman House Museum and the city of Walla Walla Parks and Recreation will host a series of free summer concerts at the Pioneer Park Bandstand.

These concerts continue the more than 100-year old tradition of gathering our community around the bandstand for evening entertainment.

Three performances are scheduled in June and July. The 6:30 p.m. Saturday performance features Gerardo Soto playing acoustic Latin pop. The 6 p.m. July 16 performance features the Table of Contents playing pop rock. The 6 p.m. July 30 perfomance features the Ken Hanson Band of Portland playing R&B. All concerts are free and may be canceled if there is bad weather.

A vendor will be on site for dinner, and Kirkman House Giant Cookies will be available.

The Walla Walla Cruisers Car Club will show their cars at the July concerts, and the Save the Aviary program will have representatives on site to take donations.
