Fort Walla Walla Museum is now an affiliate of Blue Star museums. The Blue Star initiative is a partnership of Blue Star Families and the National Endowment for the Arts. Its purpose is to allow free admission to more than 1,300 museums across the country to active-duty military personnel and their immediate families through the summer until Labor Day.

The bearer of the approved ID, including members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserve members, as well as up to five immediate family members, will be entitled to take part in the program as often as they like at as many affiliated museums as they choose. The family of a deployed spouse is entitled to enjoy the program, too.

For more information, a list of frequently asked questions is available at nea.gov/national/bluestarmuseums/faq.html.

Fort Walla Walla Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Admission is free to members and children under 6, $3 for children ages 6-12, $6 for seniors 62 and older and students and $7 general admission. Details are available at 509-525-7703, info@fortwallawallamuseum.org or fortwallawallamuseum.org.
