WESTON - Tests of the city's water system have come back clear of E. coli bacteria and a boil order for drinking water has been lifted, officials said today.
Five water samples were taken from different locations in the system and submitted for testing. All five samples returned clear, according to a news release.
Testing confirmed the city well head was clear of bacteria and safe during the entire incident, so there is no concern the city water source was compromised, the release said.
Over the next couple of weeks, the city will continue to sample the water system and work with the state Drinking Water Program to ensure residents continue to have access to safe drinking water, the release said.
