Police investigate Sunday-night shooting

WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that injured one person.

Police were dispatched at 10:23 p.m. to a residence at 1123 S. Third Ave. where they found Kevin A. Myrick, 25, of that address wounded by a gunshot, said police spokesman Officer Tim Bennett.

Myrick was walking around when officers arrived and able to talk, Bennett said. He was taken to a local hospital and later flown to a hospital in Seattle. Myrick's condition had not stabilized as of this morning.

Police said Myrick was apparently shot during an altercation as he was outside the residence. Detectives have been working on the case throughout the night, but no arrests have been made.

Bennett said police do not believe the shooting to be gang-related.
