WALLA WALLA -- Police continue to look for an unknown assailant who killed a Walla Walla man.
On Sunday, emergency responders were called to 1123 S. Third Ave., and found resident Kevin Myrick walking about and bleeding profusely. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
There it was discovered he had been shot, the Walla Walla Police Department said in a press release.
Myrick died about 12:25 p.m. on Monday at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, after being flown there from Walla Walla. An autopsy will be performed by the King County Medical Examiner's office.
Court records show that in early 2008, Myrick was sentenced to serve 26 months in prison after pleading guilty to two burglaries. In one of those, Myrick used scissors to threaten a man.
Police have conducted a number of interviews and are seeking two or three other people to talk to, according to Officer Tim Bennett, department spokesman.
Investigators are withholding some details of their findings, he added, "in order to not jeopardize the investigation."
Bennett was hopeful detectives would have more details by the end of today.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department at 527-1960.
