Della L. Doughty
July 15, 1927 - May 26, 2011

Former Walla Walla resident, Della L. Doughty, 83, died
May 26, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Washington.

Della was born July 15, 1927, in Rushville, Nebraska, to
Lewis B. and Lois Myrtle Park Wiles. She graduated from
high school in Rushville and attended Union College in
Lincoln, Nebraska for two years. On July 3, 1952, she
and Val Jean Ray Doughty married in Gordon, Nebraska.

She worked in medical records and as a registra with a
cancer registry at Phoenix (Arizona) Memorial Hospital
for ten years then at Mesa (Arizona) General Hospital.
Following her retirement in 1993, she moved to this
area from Chandler, Arizona.
Della enjoyed handwork including embroidery and crochet.
She was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Della is survived by her daughter, Loreen Sharon Dougherty
of Tacoma, Washington; and three grandchildren:
Christina Minot also of Tacoma; Dustin Dougherty
of Pendleton, Oregon; and Patrick Dougherty of College
Place. She was preceded in death by two siblings in infancy.

The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Sunday, June
19, 2011, at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551
Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Washington. Chaplain
Walt Meske will officiate.
