Marion (Mary) Geneva Leonetti of Walla Walla passed away June 21, 2011, at Stateline Retirement Inn of Milton-Freewater at the age of 80.
Mary was born in Sunnyside, Wash., on Jan. 14, 1931, the daughter of Dora Clark and Marvin Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy and Shirley.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Verl Leonetti; two sons, John Leonetti and wife (Sandi), Mike Leonetti; and a daughter, Kathy Leonetti Johnson all of Walla Walla. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jason Leonetti, Jeana Baldauf, Angela Anderson, Matthew Wray, Shane Wray, Brandon Wray and Adam Wray. She is also survived are six great-grandsons; brother, Marvin Miller; sister, Ella Ruth Crisp;
lifelong friend, Donna Hayden; and sister-in-law, Natalie Sumerlin.
Mary was educated in Milton-Freewater. She enjoyed bowling,knitting, crocheting, puzzles and reading. She enjoyed life, her family and weekly outings with her best friend, Donna.
Mary met her husband, Verl, on the church steps in Milton-Freewater and married him in Walla Walla at the St. Francis Rectory on March 12, 1949.
She worked at Greco's Dry Cleaners but always wanted to be a veterinarian. That's probably why she always had her pet dogs and they were always on her lap.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. Private family viewing. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St. Walla Walla. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at College Place Lions Park at 1 p.m. Following the service.
