WALLA WALLA -- Classic cars and classic airplanes will join a display of a World War II bomber this weekend.

Members of the Mooney Flying Club will be holding a fly-in at the Walla Walla Regional Airport on Saturday. At the same time, members of the Mercedes Benz Club of America-Seattle Section will also put on a car show.

The "Wings and Wheels to Walla Walla" event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be held in the same area the "Maid in the Shade" B-25 bomber is on exhibit, said Rick Tuttle, event organizer.

About 30 Mooney owners from around the county are expected to come to Walla Walla for the event and about 20 Mercedes owners are expected at the show, Tuttle said. Members from the Walla Walla Cruisers car club have also been invited to show their vehicles.

The show is open to the public and people are asked to bring canned food for donation to a local food bank for admission.
