MILTON-FREEWATER - Earlier this month, City Council members unanimously voted to be included in a proposed ambulance taxing district that the county is currently considering.

Mayor Lewis Key and councilors Orrin Lyon, Ed Chesnut, Jeff Anliker and Steve Irving were present at the June 13 meeting.

Before county commissioners could proceed with putting the proposed ambulance district for the November ballot, city councilors had to give their approval to include Milton-Freewater.

If approved by voters this fall, homeowners within the district can expect to pay 25 cents per thousand dollars of assessed value.
