Goldaperl "Geep" Hunt of College Place and formerly of Milton-Freewater passed away June 23, 2011, at her home at the age of 90 years. A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Goldaperl Hunt to the Walla Walla Community Hospice or the St. Mary Regional Cancer Center Special Needs in care of the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater,OR 97862.
Goldaperl "Geep" Hunt was born on Dec. 7, 1920, the daughter of Harry C. and Susie E. (Sharpe) Coleman in Superior, Iowa. The family moved to Laurens, Iowa when she was a young child. Goldaperl attended and graduated from Laurens High School in 1938. After graduation she attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Goldaperl completed her degree and taught in Iowa area schools. In 1942 she married Robert L Bolen and moved to San Diego, Calif., where he was serving in the United States Marine Corps. After the war, they moved to Burbank, Calif., where they owned and operated an aircraft company until 1965 when Robert preceded her in death. Goldaperl had a brief marriage to Don E. Hunt which later ended in divorce. In 1973 she married William "Bill" Hunt Jr., and the couple continued to live in Burbank until 1986 when they retired and settled in Milton-Freewater. William preceded her in death on March 27, 2010. Goldaperl enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Ruth Ann Estoup of Milton-Freewater, Barbara O'Connor of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Dennis Bolen of Titusville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews and other relatives and friends. Her parents; husbands; and a sister, Joyce Worth, all preceded her in death.
