Redeemer Lutheran Church to present study of book of Romans

DAYTON - Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 S. Third St., will host one segment of an ongoing "fly over" of the Bible's New Testament book of Romans from 10-10:45 a.m. today.

The study will be led by the Rev. Greg Bye.

Further study will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7-8 p.m. Thursday

Another will be from 10-10:45 a.m. March 13.

A study geared to teenagers is planned from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday.

St. Paul's Episcopal to hold soup, pie luncheon Tuesday

WALLA WALLA - St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine St., will hold a soup and pie luncheon in Campbell Hall from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday.

The soup will be Marvelous Minestrone, by chefs Shannon Smith and Michele Guess.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church plans Shrove Tuesday dinner

ATHENA - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fifth and College streets, will hold a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

The menu includes pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs and a beverage.

Tickets are $20 a family; ages 13 through adult $6; children 12 and under $5; preschoolers free.

Stateline Adventist plans breakfast, bake sale fundraiser

MILTON-FREEWATER - Stateline Adventist Church, 53730 Stateline Road, will have a breakfast and bake sale from 8-10 a.m. March 13 at the Friendship Center. The all-you-can-eat meal is sponsored by Milton-Stateline Adventist School seventh- and eighth-grade students. Donations will be accepted. Proceeds are for the eighth-grade Passage trip.

Christian Women's Connection luncheon will be March 16

DAYTON - Christian Women's Connection luncheon will take place from 11:30-1:30 p.m. March 16 at the Youth Building at the Dayton Fairgrounds.

It will be catered by the Country Cupboard. The cost is $9. The theme will be "Some Day My Prince Will Come."

Barbi Johnson, from Nussentials Whole Food Products & Natural Soy Candles, will be featured.

Music will be by Heather Sterns, who works at the Dayton Memorial Library. She will present special music, including Irish folk songs.

Speaker and writer April McNeil will address the group. McNeil has been everything from a hairstylist to a martial arts instructor, and she will also share some self-defense strategies.

Babysitting is available.

Reservations are due by calling Judy Jackson at 509-399-2005 by noon Tuesday.

M-F Christian Church to present Crossing Guards March 19

MILTON-FREEWATER - Milton-Freewater Christian Church, 518 S. Main St., will host the Crossing Guards from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on March 19.

This group is from Boise (Idaho) Bible College.

Music and testimonies will be geared toward teenagers.

Life Church to host Delight Women's Conference March 24-26

WALLA WALLA - Life Church, 116 S. Third Ave., will host a Delight Women's Conference beginning at 7 p.m. March 24 and continuing with worship, teaching and preaching and workshops on Friday and Saturday.

The theme of the conference is found in the Bible in Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is with you ... He will take great delight in you."

Speakers will be Monie Lotze, who co-pastors Victory Faith Fellowship with husband Craig Lotze in the Spokane Valley; JoAnne Ramos, who co-pastors the Bell Town Campus of City Church in Kirkland, Wash., with husband Tony; and Marcy Pohlreich, who co-pastors Generational Hope Christian Center in Maple Valley, Wash., with husband Ed Pohlreich.

Child care is not available.

The Father's House to host Priscilla Shirer simulcast April 1-2

WALLA WALLA - The Father's House, 304 N. Second Ave., will host a simulcast conference for women on April 1-2 entitled, "Going Beyond: Life Interrupted" featuring Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer.

Shirer will teach from a women's conference in Florida on turning "life interruptions" into opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ and serve Him from the center of His will. The Friday simulcast will be from 6-9:30 p.m. and the Saturday simulcast will begin at 8:15 a.m. It will include worship lead by Anthony Evans.

Admittance is free. An offering will be taken to cover expenses.
