The Loggers regained the lead at 4-3 with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. With two outs, two walks sandwiched around a single led to the first run when the next batter was hit by a pitch. The second run scored on a balk.
Whitman loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fifth when sophomore Chris Andrews walked, freshman Jimmy Madden singled and senior Jay Richards dropped down a bunt single. Following a strike-out, freshman Casey Minnick lifted an RBI-sacrifice fly ball to center field to even the score at 4-4.
Korsmo drew a walk to reload the bases, but a fly ball to center ended the Missionary threat.
Puget Sound countered in the bottom of the inning, breaking the game open with five runs on two hits, three errors and three walks.
Minnick paced Whitman's seven-hit offense with two hits in three official at-bats.
