School's Out Craft Studio (Ages 5-10)

Spend your school vacation doing something crafty! Children will get to choose from a large variety of miscellaneous art supplies and recycled materials to create special projects. Supplies included in the class cost. Instructed by Jennifer Hilbert.

Pottery Painting Studio Now Open SUNDAYS!

Looking for the chance to make a personalized and useful project? The Pottery Painting Studio, 109 S. Palouse St. is the perfect place to create a handmade piggy bank, mug, plate, tile, or any of the other 60 different items ranging from $2-$80. Now open Sundays for more pottery painting fun! Our pottery staff can show you tricks to make your painting experience easy and fun.

Hours: Thursdays, 3:30-8:00 p.m.; Fridays 3:30-6:00 p.m.; Saturdays 11 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; Sundays 12 -4:00 p.m.

Creating with Clay and Watercolor (Ages 5-10)

Introduce children to hand-building methods such as pinch and coil and then their pieces will be bisque fired in the creating with clay classes. Explore drawing, water color painting, papers, brushes, techniques, and color mixing in the watercolor classes. Supplies for classes included in the class cost. Instructed by Jennifer Hilbert.

Shadow Memory Box (Ages 5-10)

Create a three dimensional shadow box to display favorite childhood memories. Children will learn how to select and layer items to tell a visual story of a special person, trip, event, or time in their life. Participants are asked to bring items such as photographs and other mementos that are important and special to them. Supplies are included in the class cost. Instructed by Jeff Warner.

Saturdays, March 19 and 26 at 10:30-11:15 a.m . Fee: $25

Adult Softball Meeting Scheduled

Walla Walla Parks and Recreation will hold an informational meeting for teams interested in participating in men's or co-ed adult softball leagues at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 at City Hall, corner of 3rd Ave. and Rose St. The meeting will cover league format, registration deadlines, and rules.

All those 16 and over are eligible to participate. Each team will play a 20 game season, including league tournament, at Mill Creek Sportsplex. League play will begin in early May and continue through July.

Registration fees for teams in the 2011 league are $385 per team plus $37 per player. Team registration fees are due by Wednesday, April 6 to the Parks and Recreation Office, 55 Moore St. Registration is also available online at www.ci.walla-walla.wa.us.

Individuals interested in playing who are not already part of a team may call the Parks and Recreation Department to be placed on an interest list that will be made available to teams looking for additional players.

Adult Soccer League Registration Open

Registration is open for teams who desire to participate in the Walla Walla Parks and Recreation's adult soccer leagues. Anyone 16 and over is eligible to participate. Men's, women's and co-ed divisions are being formed with teams playing an eight game season, including playoffs. The co-ed league will play on Sunday, men's league on Monday & Wednesday, and the women's league on Tuesday & Thursday. All play will be 7 on 7.

In order to participate teams must register by Wednesday, March 9 at the Parks and Recreation Office, 55 Moore St, or online at www.ci.walla-walla.wa.us. Cost to register is $220 per team and $12 per player.

Individuals interested in playing who do not have a team may call the Parks and Recreation Department or send an email to recreation@ci.walla-walla.wa.us to be placed on an interest list.This list will be made available to teams looking for additional players.
