Roberta was born Feb. 25, 1945, in Denver to Emil R. and Gladys K. Hestor Hoppe. The family moved to this area in 1949 from Pullman, Wash. She attended local schools, graduating from Walla Walla High
School in 1963. She attended Walla Walla College and Walla Walla Community College, receiving a licensed practical nursing degree. She worked as an LPN in various health-care settings, including hospitals
and nursing homes. Following her retirement from nursing, she owned her own housecleaning business.
On May 3, 1974, she and Stan L. Hutchins were married in Kennewick. Roberta loved ballroom dancing and reading. She also loved to clean house! Her family was of great importance to her; but, secondly, she
loved her cats. She was a member of TOPS, B.P.O.E. Lodge #287, the Walla Walla Jaycees and the Life Church.
Those left to mourn her loss are her husband, at their home; two daughters, Doreen O'Harrow of College Place and Carolyn Ahlgren of Wenatchee; and four grandchildren, Cassandra, Courtney and Matthew Ahlgren, all of Wenatchee, and Emma O'Harrow of Milton-Freewater.
