Applicants still sought for Walla Walla County Planning Commission seat

County residents are encouraged to apply by March 24.

WALLA WALLA -- A deadline has been extended to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Walla Walla County Planning Commission.

Residents from any area of the county will be considered for the appointment. Information, application forms and a questionnaire which applicants must complete are available on the county's website at the county commissioners' office.

Applications are due by March 24 at the close of the business day.

The Planning Commission is a seven-member citizen body which typically meets on the first Wednesday of each month, although special meetings are held occasionally.

Commissioners hold public hearings and formulate recommendations to the county commissioners on land use policy issues and development codes. The term of service is four years.

The Planning Commission is now partially assisted partially by the Walla Walla Joint Community Development Agency. County and joint agency staff will assist the person appointed to become familiar with the county's planning history, code, policy and public processes.

To Apply

Application forms are available online at or at the county commissioners' office, 314 W. Main St., phone 524-2505.
