COLLEGE PLACE - A hearing Monday will focus on creation of a master licensing service for businesses in the city.
The Council will take comments on the proposed business registration ordinance. The program would be done in partnership with the state Department of Licensing. The Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 625 S. College Ave.
At a February workshop, Kathy Bowman, city community development director, said that along with being able to keep track of businesses operating in the city, potential benefits included providing emergency workers with knowledge of hazardous materials or conditions, ensuring compliance with zoning laws and having local contact information for businesses.
According to the agenda, after the hearing, the Council will direct staff on what further action to take on the proposal.
