Walla Walla man injured after car runs off US Highway 12

WALLA WALLA -- A Walla Walla man was injured Sunday after his car ran off U.S. Highway 12 about three miles east of Wallula Junction.

Washington State Police reported the crash was reported at 6:10 p.m. when the car, driven by R. Miguel Angel Castillo, 23, went off the west side of the highway.

Castillo's car traveled about 500 feet and came to rest in a 10-foot ravine. Police said Castillo received minor injuries. He was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Police said the cause of the accident was Castillo falling asleep. He was cited for negligent driving.
