Angeline Sarah Farrens passed away March 14, 2011, at Eagle Springs
in College Place. Angie was born July 13, 1921, in Stevenson, Wash., to Elisee and Alix Ganguet. She grew up in Burbank and outside of Dixie, graduating from Dixie High School in 1939. She went on to Washington State College then graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane. In Spokane, she worked at Fidelity Bank, returned to Walla Walla and worked at Baker Boyer Bank until marriage.

On Jan. 24, 1948, she married Paul C. Farrens in Walla Walla. They had three children, Dean Farrens, Greg (Kathie) Farrens, and JoAnn Farrens all of Walla Walla. Paul passed away May 2, 1977. Angie
lived on Mill Creek Road for 62 years. She was active in the Mill Creek Community, Mill Creek Home Economics Club (1986 Walla Walla County Extension Homemaker of the Year), Mill Creek Farm Bureau and 4-H leader for Mill Creek Wranglers. She was a founding Member of Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, Assumption Women's Club member, Fort Walla Walla Museum member, and was an Early Birds and Co-Op couples bowling leagues.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Keith (Jennifer) Farrens, Tania (Eric) Nelson, Brian Farrens and Heather Farrens; six great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Ganguet; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Peggy Farrens; sisters, Mary Jane Meiners and Sara Chamberlin; and brother, Elie Ganguet.

Viewing and visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, 2011, from 10 a.m. until after the Rosary at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla. The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with Father Tim Hays officiating. Private Interment will be held. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church with Father Tim Hays, celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Walla Walla County Farm Bureau - Paul C. Farrens Scholarship, Assumption Church or Fort Walla Walla Museum through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
