Whitman professor co-edits essays on Pynchon novel

WALLA WALLA -- A novel with a city's worth of characters now has a book with a village's worth of literary voices to guide the way.

"Pynchon's 'Against the Day' -- A Corrupted Pilgrim's Guide," co-edited by Whitman College English assistant professor Chris Leise and Jeffrey Severs, is a collection of essays "by established and emerging voices in the field of Pynchon criticism, each addressing a significant aspect of the novel's manifold interests," according to the book jacket synopsis.

Leise also wrote the introduction to the book.
