PASCO - DeSales' Ryan Baumgart carded a one-over 28 to medal at a nine-hole District 9 golf invite at Golfland here Thursday.
Baumgart's score helped the Irish boys to a second-place finish with a four-player team score of 131, 10 strokes behind Tri-Cities Prep's 121.
Liberty Christian was third at 155, Dayton was fourth at 157, while St. John-Endicott made the trip with an incomplete team.
Other Irish scores were Bryce Scott, 31; Jerod Konan, 32; Ben Wolpert, 40; Andrew Hayunga 41; and Benjamin Miedema 43.
Dayton scores were Dean Henderson, 36; Jarron Button, 39; Mohannad Owiwi, 48; Tim Ihle, 60.
Waitsburg-Prescott's Dakota Baker carded an individual score of 34.
On the girls' side, Tri-Cities Prep won the team score with a 151, followed by DeSales' 174. St. John-Endicott, Dayton and Liberty Christian fielded incomplete squads.
St. John-Endicott's Erin Schuster shot a 35 to medal.
DeSales' scores included Ashton Montgomeroy, 40; Alyssa Lyons, 42; Kelly Martin, 43; Grace Burrows, 49.
Dayton's Molly Payne shot a 42, and Kyla Ihle a 50.
"The sunny Irish leprechaun shined on us yesterday," DeSales coach Lon Olson said.
"Overall, I was pleased with the team's performance as it has been difficult to have productive practices with the weather being uncooperative," Dayton coach Mike McGhan said. "We had a few kids who have never played golf before. We were also missing several golfers due to previous commitments."
Dayton, DeSales and Tri-Cities Prep square off again at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Canyon Lakes.
