Opening act named for Walla Walla fair concert

LoCash Cowboys will open for The Band Perry during the August show, officials said.

WALLA WALLA -- Country rock duo LoCash Cowboys will be the opening act at the Walla Walla County Fair & Frontier Days 2011 concert.

The Nashville twosome of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust were announced Thursday as the opener for the Fair's headlining act, The Band Perry.

The LoCash Cowboys debut CD, "This Is How We Do It," is described as series of high-energy songs that celebrate the duo's "conviction that the best things in life are free or at least low-cash," according to a description on Lucas's and Brust's website. Songs include "Fresh Off The Farm," "Here Comes Summer," "This Town Needs a Parade" and "Keep in Mind." The latter, the duo's second single, broke the top 40 on country music charts early this year.

They'll join The Band Perry, made up of siblings Reid, Kimberly and Neil Perry, as entertainment at this year's fair concert.

Ticket go on sale Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at the windows and at 8 a.m. by phone. Call 527-FAIR or log onto for more information.
