UCLA's Williams returns for second Sweets season

WALLA WALLA - Kevin Williams, the lone rising freshman on the inaugural Walla Walla Sweets team, is returning to southeastern Washington for the second season of Sweets baseball.

Williams, a 6-foot, 185-pound infielder, was selected in the 41st round of the MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers but elected to play at UCLA. He earned first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division II honors as a high school senior before coming to the Sweets. Although he only hit .163 in 17 games, Williams played well defensively, primarily positioned at second or third base. He had six RBI and scored a run before departing early for UCLA freshman orientation.
