PRESCOTT - Waitsburg-Prescott came through in the clutch to win the opener here Saturday in non-league baseball action. W-P unleashed an 11-hit offensive show in the second game to complete a sweep of St. John-Endicott, 7-5 and 18-0.

St.J-E rallied with a three-run fifth to tie it at 5-5 in the opener. W-P came right back to take the lead for good on a Joe Purdin RBI single in the home fifth as W-P went on to take a 7-5 decision.

W-P pounded out nine hits with Dalton Estes, Tre Brannock, and Justin Zuger leading the way with two hits each. Estes came on in relief of Purdin and worked two scoreless innings to close the win.

W-P posted an eight-run third to put game two out of reach, and Zach Bartlow pitched a one-hitter while striking out seven to make sure there was no St.J-E rally.

Bartlow ripped three hits, including a grand slam, to lead the W-P 11-hit attack.

"Zach had a real good outing," W-P coach Dustin Snedigar said. "We're getting better."

Matt Hamilton also collected three hits, and Estes added two in the 11-hit attack that produced the 18-0 win.

W-P pounded out 20 hits in the sweep and improved to 3-0 on the year.

"We've got the bats rolling," Snedigar said. "We're trying to balance it out with timely hitting, and solid defense. It's good to see the big bats get going and especially in timely spots."
