DAYTON - Tri-Cities Prep took home both the boys and girls team titles here at the Touchet Valley Golf Course Friday in District 9 golf action.
The Jaguars shot 179 in boys competition to defeat DeSales, which finished eight shots back at 187.
DeSales' Ryan Baumgart took home medalist honors over the par 36 nine hole Touchet Valley course. Baumgart shot a two-over 38.
Colin Price of TCP finished with a 42, and Dayton's Dain Henderson and TCP's Tommy Windish were next with 43s.
The Jaguars outshot the Irish 179-198 to take the girls win. The Bulldogs were one shot behind DeSales at 199.
The Jaguars Alexis Armijo took medalist honors with a 48.
DeSales' Ashton Montgomery was next at 58 and Alyssa Lyons shot a 60 for the Irish to finish third.
Rounding out the Bulldog boys scores were Jaron Button at 48, Tim Ihle at 64, Mohannad Owiwi at 68, and Andre Fayette at 74.
Dakota Baker of Waitsburg-Prescott finished with a 48.
Molly Payne led the Dayton girls with a 62. Abby Chapman shot 66, and Kyla Ihle finished at 71.
"This was probably the best weather we have had this season in Dayton," Dayton coach Mike McGhan said. "The course was in great shape.
"There was a lot of competitive golf today," McGhan continued. "Our inexperienced kids are improving. Before the season, I thought I would have only one male golfer (Henderson) so I am pleased to have some more boys."
