Verline Fae Marll, age 82 years, of 203 Patit Road, Dayton, died March 24, 2011, at the Booker Rest Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Hubbard-Rogg Chapel with Pastor Greg Brownell officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Dayton City Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the Booker Rest Home Memorial Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.
Verline was born March 25, 1928, in Pomeroy. Her parents were Albert and Audrey Harsh Jennings. She attended rural schools in the Pomeroy area. On Sept. 29, 1946, she married Delbert Marll in a ceremony held in Dayton where they made their home.
She was a cook for the Dayton School District for 26 years. She enjoyed camping, mushroom and huckelberry picking, fishing on the Tucannon and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Joyce of Joseph, Ore.; and a son, Stephen Marll of Dayton; three brothers, James Jennings of Dayton, Charles Jennings of Cody, Wyo., and Bill Jennings of Pomeroy; one sister, Clara Long of Pomeroy; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Marll; two brothers, Tommy and Don Jennings; three sisters, Earlene and Zelma Kimbal and Alberta Boyd.
