Xplosion U-12 softball team goes 5-1 at weekend tourney

WALLA WALLA - The Walla Walla Xplosion 12-and-under fastpitch softball team went 5-1 last weekend at the Umpire Blue tournament in Tri-Cities against teams from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

The Xplosion beat Washington Force99, 5-3, Pendleton Pride, 17-10, and TC Thunder, 9-0, on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Washington Angels98 downed the Explosion, 11-2, before the Walla Walla squad bounced back to beat the W/V Heat, 17-1.

In the final game of the weekend, the Xplosion had a sixth-inning rally to defeat Force98, 6-5.

The Xplosion head back to Tri-Cities April 8-10 for NSA Ice Breakers Tournament, with 138 teams in attendance.

Team members are Teresa Acock, Selina Atkinson, Kaylee Brown, Karlie Broxson, Whitney Enriquez, Cara Hall, Kate Hogan, Tara Krivoshein, Allesyn Lyons, Victoria Martinez, Cassidy Meliah and Kassi Parker. Head coach is Mark Ferraro, assistants are Chris Meliah and Scott Krivoshein, and manager is Angie Brown.
