MISSION, Ore. - Wa-Hi's boys golfers battled adverse conditions and finished sixth at the Wildhorse Invite here Tuesday.
Dean Atkinson's 80 led the Blue Devils.
Pendelton's Scott Newman carded a 3-under-par 69 for low score.
Richland won the team competition at 304, followed by Pendleton 323, La Grande 326, Moses Lake 338, Crook County 342, Wa-Hi 350, Hermiston 358, The Dalles 371, Mac-Hi 405, Hood River 413 and Nixyaawii 563.
Also carding counting scores for Wa-Hi were Nick Atwood at 87, Jermiah Mason 91 and Houston Rice 92. Cameron Mountain had a non-counting 98.
"I was real pleased with Dean's round of 80," Wa-Hi coach Jim Smith said. "In those conditions (rain and wind), that's very good."
The Blue Devils left three varsity players in Walla Walla, including Jake Hanson, who is battling a back injury.
"We were a little bit young, and a little bit inexperienced," Smith said.
Hanson likely won't be back on the course until after spring break, Smith said.
Wa-Hi heads to the Central Washington Invite at Apple Tree in Yakima on Tuesday.
