ST. JOHN - Pomeroy's boys golf team came out on top of a three-way tournament with St. John-Endicott and Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia despite windy conditions Tuesday.

The Pirates had a team score of 230 on the day. St. J-E had a 266 and T-O-R had a 304.

St. John-Endicott's Casey Brown medaled with a 39 on the par-35, nine-hole course.

Joel Meyers led the Pirates with a 41. Austin Starin carded a 45, Riley Bott had 43, Tyson Feider had a 50 and Tanner Feider had a 51.

Wyatt Hyer scored a not-counting 61.

"The conditions were rough," said Pomeroy golf coach Jim Greene. "They hadn't really had anyone take care of the course. We had nine kids play the course for the first time. It was night enough, but really windy. It was another good practice for us."

The Pirates are off for spring break and hit the links again April 11 at Tekoa.
