WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Native Plant Society is celebrating Native Plant Appreciation Week, from May 1-7, with several events.
A hike at Rempel Natural Area at Fort Walla Walla Park will be from 1-3 p.m. on April 30. Meet at the Rempel Trailhead off the Fort Walla Walla Museum entrance road for the two-mile hike.
At noon on May 4 is Picnic at the Pots to have lunch and view native plants dating to the time of Lewis and Clark at the Land Trust Plaza, First Avenue and Main Street.
On May 6, a Demonstration Garden Open House will be from noon to 2 p.m. will provide 20-minute tours of the garden, which is at the Blue Mountain Humane Society, 7 E. George St.
