Whitman Cycling Club to race at Tour of Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA - The Tour of Walla Walla presented by Banner Bank has announceed that the nationally ranked Whitman Cycling Club will be racing in the Tour of Walla Walla.

"We are looking forward to racing in front of a home crowd," said Roxanne Pierson, president of the Whitman Cycling Club. "We are excited about the opportunity not only to compete against some of the best riders in the Northwest, but also to race in a big field."

The Whitman Cycling Club will be raffling off an Orbea Onix T105 race bike to raise money for the team and the Tour of Walla Walla. The Orbea Onix road bike provides the best in European innovation for the race-level rider.

Raffle tickets will be sold from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, and April 6 and 12 at the Reid Campus Center, as well as at Allegro Cyclery at 200 E. Main St. or at the Tour of Walla Walla races.

The 15th annual Tour of Walla Walla presented by Banner Bank is scheduled for April 15-17, with about 600 riders expected to compete in the three-day competition.
