Leisa Deschaine, Milton-Freewater, passed away March 26, 2011, at the Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, at the age of 53 years. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Congrove of the Heritage Baptist Church in Walla Walla officiating. There will be a potluck dinner for family and friends at the M-F Junior Show Grounds immediately following the memorial service. Leisa was born June 14, 1957, in Ontario, California, the daughter of Edward R. and Barbara J. Poulson Goodwin. She moved with her family to Texas for a time before moving to Walla Walla at the age of 10 years. The family later moved to Dixie, where she attended grade school and then graduated from Waitsburg High School. After her graduation, she worked at K-Mart, DK Frozen Foods, Rogers Walla Walla Cannery and Griggs Department Store. On Feb. 13, 1983, she married Lee Deschaine in Milton-Freewater. While she was raising her family, she did babysitting in her home. She enjoyed crafts and did decorations for 4-H Clubs in Milton-Freewater. Leisa was very supportive of the activities her children were involved in. She enjoyed Bingo, playing at the Elks Lodge and at the Golden Agers Bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Deschaine at the home; a son, Lee Deschaine of Milton-Freewater; a daughter, Crystal Deschaine of Milton-Freewater; two sisters, Kathie Ann Goodwin and Barbara Juanita Goodwin, both of Kennewick; brother-in-law and wife, Don and Linda Garlitz, of Milton-Freewater; numerous nieces and nephews including a great niece, Jordan Matlock of Walla Walla; and her red border collie, Skippy.
