Village Seventh-day Adventist holds 5K Fun Run/Walk today

COLLEGE PLACE -- Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, 715 S.E. 12th St., will hold its "Every Day With Jesus" 5K Fun Run/Walk today at 8 a.m.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There is no charge. T-shirts are available.

Moms In Touch to observe National Day of Prayer

WALLA WALLA -- Moms In Touch International will have a women's National Day of Prayer event at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church, 595 Abbott Road.

Prayer will focus on the U.S. educational system. No child care.

First Presbyterian to host community prayer service

WALLA WALLA -- The National Day of Prayer will be observed in a nondenominational service from 12:15-1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 325 S. First Ave.

Church and community leaders will read the Bible and pray for the nation and the world.

Ingle Chapel to hold annual indoor yard, baked-goods sale

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Ingle Chapel, 85372 Highway 339, will hold its annual indoor yard and baked goods sale 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.

A variety of items and baked goods will be sold.

Proceeds are for church improvements and community projects.

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Church Women United will meet at noon Thursday at Ingle Chapel, 85372 Highway 339, for May Friendship Day. The theme is "Living Our Friendship, Passing on the Key."

St. Paul's Episcopal to host May's First Thursday concert

WALLA WALLA -- St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine St. will hold a First Thursday concert at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

The Steel Drum Band from Walla Walla University will play a selection of Calypso, Soca, Samba, Cha-Cha, Classical and Rock music.

Donations will go to the charity of the performers' choice.

Church Women United plan Friendship Day Friday

WALLA WALLA -- Church Women United's May Friendship Day luncheon is at noon, Friday at Central Christian Church, 66 S. Palouse St. The focus will be "Passing the Key" to the next generation.

Women from area churches are invited to bring a younger woman or daughter.

GSM's Annual One Day Only sale is slated for Saturday

WALLA WALLA -- Good Samaritan Ministries will hold ots Annual One Day Only Sale from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Fourth Avenue and Rose Street.

The sale will benefit the outreach and international ministry work in Nigeria. ood Samaritan is a non-profit Christian counseling and counselor training ministry, operated by local volunteers, and offers it services at no charge.

Services also include support groups and a variety of classes.

Dayton Christian Women's Connection luncheon slated

DAYTON -- Christian Women's Connection will hold its May luncheon from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at the Seneca Activity Center. The meal will be catered by: Fiesta En Jalisco - Mexican. The cost is $9.

The theme of the luncheon will be Fiesta Fun and the purpose of the luncheon will be to highlight Hispanic people

Michele Ping of Bend, Ore., will share. Ping is the Latino Services Coordinator for the Deschutes County Library and a Cross Cultural Liaison for Stonecroft Ministires. Michele is also an artis
